Your development as a Management Consultant
0 - 2 years
As a management consultant, your journey begins with a strong focus on learning and growing. You begin as a curious professional immersed in the world of consulting. In this initial phase, you work on a variety of projects, gather experience and build relationships with colleagues and clients. As your skills increase, you become a confident consultant. You understand the complexity of business processes and can analyze strategic problems. You begin to specialize in certain areas of expertise and take on more responsibility for projects.
2 - 5 years
You will take on increasingly challenging assignments at different organizations. Each with their own questions and issues. This gives you the opportunity to develop quickly within a specialized field or to opt for a broad, more advisory role. Training courses and the Competence Circles will help you with this.
5 - 10+ years
As a senior, you are an expert in your field. You have in-depth knowledge and experience. You lead project teams, mentor juniors and have an active role in developing new client relationships. You think strategically and help develop business strategies for clients.
Eventually you can advance to a management position. As a manager, you are responsible for the success of projects and teams. You manage consultants and monitor the quality of the work. You think not only about the day-to-day execution, but also about the long term.
