Jeannot Marx (35) joined ConQuaestor on November 1. He is focused on expanding our proposition, pairing operations issues with our strong foundation in finance consulting. "My focus is on helping clients with their digital transformation which can be at the intersection of operations and finance, but also beyond that. For example, operations and data & technology", says Jeannot. We are happy to introduce him to you.
Jeannot grew up near Maastricht, then studied in Tilburg and now lives in Amsterdam. On a spare moment Jeannot likes to put on his running shoes and in winter he likes to head for colder places like the snowy Alps or Scandinavian Lapland. An avid winter sports fan, he even takes to the slopes in an indoor ski hall in the summer.
What was the start of your career like?
"After studying Fiscal Economics, I was involved for three years in a start-up that I founded together with some professors and professors from the university. We developed online tutoring and exam training for high school students with which we offered an affordable alternative to the often expensive offline tutoring. I then made the move to PwC, where I worked for over seven years in Strategy & Operations consulting for the financial sector. There I was involved in improving and innovating business processes at banks, insurers and pension funds, among other things."
What knowledge did you gain there?
"During those years, I focused on everything under the heading of Operational Excellence: automation and digitization projects, designing business processes, improving and innovating. How do you make an organization function better, serve customers faster, and save costs? I have tackled these kinds of issues for years. I now bring that experience to ConQuaestor. It is widely applicable - not only in finance, but also in other sectors."
Now you are making the move to ConQuaestor, why?
"I was looking for an organization that combines the entrepreneurial nature of a start-up with the clout of a corporate. That's what I found at ConQuaestor. It is a more compact club than my previous employer, but with the power of Team EIFFEL and the investment company behind it. That makes it possible to build while getting results quickly. It felt like the perfect middle ground between my previous experiences."
What will your work look like?
"On the one hand, I want to establish a strong operations position internally. That means building a solid foundation and introducing our teams to the expertise required to do so. On the other hand, the focus is on the customer: what is on the agenda within operations and where, given the rapid developments in the market, Operational Excellence can really support this agenda. In the short term, we will mainly ensure concrete results with existing customers and new customers, and in the long term we want to further strengthen our reputation in Operational Excellence consultancy."
Do you have a goal in mind within ConQuaestor?
"The goal is to perpetuate the Operations competence within ConQuaestor and achieve synergy with the strong Finance and Data & Technology competencies. This will ensure that we can guide end-to-end transformations towards our customers where finance as well as data and operations play a role."
