After a four-year hiatus, Jeroen Wester is back at ConQuaestor. With more than 20 years of experience within the organization, he has seen and experienced a lot. "My interim heart has started beating again," says Jeroen. "ConQuaestor offers the opportunity to do great assignments at leading companies, and I didn't want to miss that chance."
In the four years Jeroen worked outside ConQuaestor, he held various roles, including financial controller for Scandinavia and France at PF Concept and finance manager at Teleperformance Netherlands. "The work was challenging, but I missed the dynamics of being an interim manager," Jeroen says. "At ConQuaestor, you get the chance to work with new projects and clients each time. That gave me energy, and I realized I needed that variety."
When the opportunity arose to return, Jeroen didn't have to think long. "I wanted to get back to work as an interim finance professional, and at the perfect moment I was asked by colleague Morad Belhaj to have a cup of coffee and talk about ConQuaestor. What struck me immediately was the fresh energy within the organization, partly due to the involvement of Team EIFFEL. That gave me the confidence that this was the right move."
Senior finance professional with an eye for improvement
As a senior finance professional at ConQuaestor, Jeroen works at the level of senior financial controller and finance manager. "Many of my assignments focus on temporary support at companies where, for example, someone has just left employment or where there is a need for expertise for implementation of a new system," he explains. "In those situations, we as Finance Professionals can really make a difference."
Jeroen has always had a strong focus on process improvement: "At my previous employers, I often noticed that processes could be faster and more efficient, but there was not always a listening ear for my ideas. At ConQuaestor, I have the space to actually implement those improvements."
Pleased with the return
Since returning in August, Jeroen has not regretted his choice for a moment. "It feels like a warm nest," he says. "The guidance from Performance Managers is a huge asset compared to before. They ensure that I can fully focus on my assignments, without having to worry about things like booking hours or declarations. That support makes a big difference."
Investing in knowledge and development
An important aspect of working at ConQuaestor is continuous development. "As a professional, you have to make sure your backpack is filled with knowledge and experience. At ConQuaestor you have access to a huge knowledge portal, which allows you to continuously develop yourself," Jeroen says. "This is not only important for your assignments, but also to increase your market value. It ensures that you are always ready for the next challenge."
A new phase for ConQuaestor
According to Jeroen, ConQuaestor is in a great place in its development: "We are now in a phase where the Management Consultancy branch is growing again, which is wonderful to see. With Mariska at the helm, we are making steps forward and growing as an organization of Finance Professionals and Management Consultants. I am proud to be a part of that again and look forward to the great assignments I will be able to do."
